In some circumstances you might need to use Teams on the web (online) within a supported web browser from the device you want to access information stored and shared within Microsoft Teams. The graphical user interface stays the same as in the Desktop App.


Reasons for not being able to use Teams client software on Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android or iOS are:

- lack of operating system support (patch level, outdated OS version, ...)

- restrictions on (corporate) devices to download and install Microsoft Teams client software

- login conflicts due to other, existing login credentials of Teams (Microsoft personal or corporate accounts)

- non-compliant device - especially for FINMA regulated corporations


How to use Microsoft Teams on the web


1. To use Teams on the web start a modern web browser such as Chrome* or Edge* or Firefox and access the following internet address:


https://teams.microsoft.com/


(we advice you to add the address to your favorites in your web browser)


*(Chromium based web browsers for best performance and functionality)  



2. You should now receive a login prompt as follows:


Follow the login instructions on screen with your email-address, your password and if required additionally a multi factor authentication.


(In case you do not receive a login prompt or the proposed logins do not work, open the web browser in private/incognito mode and repeat the login process.)



3. After successful login you either get a first step assistant in Teams or find yourself in one of the main Teams function:


(choose to use Teams on the web - not the Desktop App - in case you get asked what interface you would like to use)


You are now free to use Teams on the web including its audio and video capabilities.



4. Please remember to logout from Teams in case you use a shared device or Desktop with other users:
